Two By Four Destruktion

This is a Bi-monthly Fortress Tournament. It has Two Teams of Four Players each attempting to conquer the opposing Fortress. This competition has been created to serve several purposes. There are a number of clans and individuals that have an interest in playing in a Fortress Tournament, but are unable to get the six players together required to form a Ladle team. This would allow these people to play in a regular tournament. It also could allow them to easily form relationships with other Tournament participants that could lead to the formation of more Ladle teams. Another purpose behind the formation of this tournament was to answer a perceived desire on the part of many experienced players for a tournament with the smaller team size that this tournament provides. For teams that are continuously participating in the Ladle, Bowl, Cup cycle, this tournament can be the kickoff for a month of preparation for the next Ladle!

Ultimately, it is hoped that this tournament will be yet another tool in arsenal of tools to grow Fortress as a game mode, and a sport. The smaller team size does provide some unique opportunities for player growth and development. Perhaps many of the next generation of the great generation of Fortress players, will get there start here! :D

Basic Structure of the Tournament

The tournament will be a single elimination tournament. Seeding will be done entirely at random the day before the tournament. The number of brackets will be determined by the demand by teams. Everybody who wants to participate is encouraged to do so. There will be several open teams, depending on the availability of team captains, that anyone can sign up for. Any questions, problems, concerns, or you just want to complain about something, contact Compguygene.

When Is the Tounament Going to be Held?

This tournament will be held Bi-Monthly on the Second Sunday of the month. Since we are starting in April of 2009, that means the Second Sunday of April, June, August, October, December, and Feburary. This was decided as the timing of this tournament so as not to conflict with the Ladle or the monthly Wild West Capture the Flag and Capture the Flag Shooting Tournaments. Saturdays were ruled out as many potential participants are either not available, or participating in Clan Wars.

What Can I Do To Help?

We need lots of help to pull this off. Here is by no means a complete list of the helpers we need. Tournament Promoters, Tournament Coordinators, Tournament Administrators, and somebody to make a cool looking website for it. The following link will take you to a place on the wiki to sign up to volunteer for any, or all of the above positions. Volunteer Sign up Page

Tournament Promotors

These are people that will, as much as possible, promote the tournament as possible to the community as a whole. They will accomplish this by posting in various forums, talking about the tourney in game, and doing there best to motivate teams to sign up.

Tournament Coordinators

These are people that will organize the various volunteers to accomplish the goals of the tournament in an organized, disciplined manner. They will also coordinate the proper behavior of Tournament Administrators and ensure no Administrator abuse. A Tournament Coordinator makes any final decisions if a dispute arises with between Tournament Participants and a Tournament Administrator. All rulings by a Tournament Coordinator are final! They will ensure a well run, fun tournament!

Tournament Administrators

These are the people that will actually administer the running of the tournament. They will ensure participants are in the correct servers. They will start each match. They will certify the results. Their rulings carry the weight of law, the only appeal is to a Tournament Coordinator.

How Can I Make a Suggestion/Complaint?

Your best choice would be to post on an existing thread, or make a new thread under Competitions at [1] Compguygene watches theses forums daily, for the most part, and should respond quickly.
